“New firms need as much support as possible and this grant scheme will be welcomed by our fledgling businesses, particularly during these difficult economic times," said Cllr Ron Davies, CCBC cabinet member for regeneration. "The council offers a range of support to local businesses and we are always happy to lend a hand, so our advice is get in touch to find out more.”

The Heads of the Valleys Business Seed Capital Fund provides financial support to help eligible residents located in the Heads of the Valleys area set up an eligible business (excluding Retail) for the first time. The scheme is designed to complement existing sources of funding.
The HOV Business Seed Capital Fund Grant is a flexible grant scheme delivered through a partnership across the Local Authorities of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Torfaen. It is designed to help residents of the Heads of the Valleys set up a full-time business for the first time, and who are not able to access any other sources of funding.
Generally business start-ups in all business sectors may be considered (excluding retail). The business must be full-time and established in the Heads of the Valleys area of Caerphilly County Borough. The individual must also be a resident of the Heads of the Valleys area.
Grants of up to 50% of eligible project costs to a maximum of £2,000 and the award of the Grant is entirely at the discretion of Caerphilly County Borough Council.
