Park Estate Christmas Tree - Updated
26/11/2009 12:00:00
The Park Estate now has it's own Christmas Tree.
The winter flowering Cherry Tree, which will represent the estates Christmas Tree, has now been planted opposite the Community Centre on the Park Estate. Despite the awful weather, (wind rain and hailstones!) the brave bunch of helpers ensured the tree was safely planted despite a few last minute hiccups. The tree was funded through Caerphilly County Borough Council's Area Forum budget and the Christmas Lights were provided by Bargoed Town Council.
Picture shows members of Groundwork Caerphilly, Christine and Ron of TARAGGAN and Cllr. Dianne Price before the planting.
UPDATE! (10th December 09)
The tree has survived the recent weather and is a welcome addition to the area. Tidy Towns Tidy Places have funded the planting of native snowdrops around the tree and these will be planted in the near future.
